Therapy for relieving muscular tension and stress

Relaxation/ Swedish Massage

Relaxation treatment has also shown to be beneficial for reducing the effects of stress, both emotional and physical, depression and improve sleep. Traditionally a relaxation massage was performed using light pressure, however most people find it more beneficial when a medium to firm pressure is used so your therapist will talk to you about the level of pressure you like with your massage. Heat packs and gentle stretching may also be used as part of your treatment. Relaxation massage can ease muscular tension, improve circulation, calm the nervous system and promote deep relaxation.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

The lymph system is responsible for removing toxins and metabolic waste away from the cells and tissues. Lymphatic drainage is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph from the tissues through the lymph nodes and ducts eventually flowing through the cardiovascular system. Once lymph is returned to the blood circulation, detoxification organs (liver, kidneys, and bowel) can filter the toxins and waste from the lymph helping to keep your body functioning. As many lymph vessels are just under the skin, moving the lymph requires a very light touch and rhythmic movements to promote lymph circulation. This form of treatment is ideal after illness, injury or surgery as part of the healing process.
